Hey. Do you have the 5 star security bits for disassembling the new wave?

Mine doesn't have date there, only numbers on mine are in the end where the tools pivot...

Try looking toward the plier head end.

If I had saw the thread earlier I could have saved you some of the trouble  The older new Waves had the 5 point but not sure of a certain date when they went to the 6 point  but around 2008 the pin that holds the plier up in the handle went from a smaller pin to a beefier pin because they were prone to breaking  I had to send my nephews in for him and they sent him one back with the bigger pin :tu: Just from the pics zrxoa1 put up you can see the bigger pin so I knew he had a newer model than Demel's just from that

Like I said though I was a bit late to the party ::) :D

Yup yup, I noted the change (it's here if anyone wants a laugh) a few years late.

To be precise, the stopping pins are sturdy and strong now. When the New Wave and the Charge models first came out in 2004, the stop pins were weak and prone to breakage. According to member Kwakster, who worked at an authorized Leatherman repair center, broken stop pins were one of the most frequent problems he encountered. In response to this, Leatherman re-designed the stop pins in 2008, making them much stronger.

You can see the difference in this photo. On top is the old style stop, date code 0807. Below is the new stop, date code 0808

I am very interested in getting the micro bit driver to put on my surge. Do you still have one?

Loki, received both of my shipments and fixed up this rebar in less than an hour. Will be trying that T shank adapter in ST 300 soon. Your the man.
