The last day

It has been an interesting month in which I really got to know my Swiss Champ. I carried it every day and used it for many things. I used it more than the pictures in this thread may suggest. Most of the occasions where I used it, I couldn’t make a picture because either I -unfortunately- don’t have three hands or because taking a picture of the situation would make the people around me seriously question my sanity :D

I would like to thank Obi1shinobee for starting this challenge. Without the “pressure” of the challenge I’m sure I wouldn’t have carried my Swiss Champ for an entire month! I had a lot of fun carrying and using the Swiss Champ and thinking of nice compositions for the photo’s was also a lot of fun!

This all being said, I must admit that in some way I also feel a little bit relieved that the challenge is over. So many beautiful Swiss Army Knives are lying on my shelf and some very interesting were added to my collection in the past month, all waiting to be carried. Their time has finally come!

The day after the last day

Looking back on the past month it's time to draw some conclusions.

First of all, the Swiss Champ is a fantastic knife with a huge amount of tools. Despite that, it is very easy carried. It's not as bulky as it might seem! In fact, I prefer the Swiss Champ over the Handyman when i'm speaking about carrying it. The Swiss Champ is thicker but stays in place better, while the Handyman is always rolling over in my pocket into a less comfortable position.

After carrying a knife with as much tools as the Swiss Champ for a month it is interesting to look back and see which tools I actually used. And then I mean really used, not used to make a nice composition for a photo. The tools I used in the past month should give a good idea of which SAK would be the most ideal one for my everyday carry.

To sum it up: I used the large blade every day and the small blade a few times a week. The scissors were used almost daily as well. I also frequently used the cap lifter and to my surprise I even used the can opener a few times. The inline philips screwdriver was used on multiple occasions, although sometimes the short length of it combined with the bulky knife made using it impossible or not practible. The corkscrew was used, and even the magnifier was used 2 or 3 times. The ballpoint pen was used once when I needed a pen and all I had available was my Swiss Champ.

All of the other tools where never used in the past month!

The conclusion of this: I should buy an Explorer:gimme:
