At work, a co-worker uses his Vic Florist knife that he got a long time ago every night to cut whatever meat hes eating and he says its real old and I figured Id get a brand new one and show him they still make em.

Those things are as sharp as anything, and can be honed to cut like lasers.

No, but it made short work of some rolled up carpet once!

Ah, a little bit of both. If he wants it, thats cool with me.

The thing with his is that the blade is about a half of an inch shorter than it used to be because of something that happened a long time ago. I mean, the knife was expensive, but hes a nice guy and if hell take it, then its his.

Mainly I bought it to amaze him that they still make that model, not brag, cause he already has one anyway. And his is way older, which somehow means cooler. That knife has seen a lot of things-maybe even a lot of prybar use.

Years ago I went into a florist shop and saw my very first Vic florist knife.  I didn't even know that they made anything but standard saks.

I went into a local floral shop and talked to the florist and she said she could order me one and will call when it came in.
About two weeks later she called and I went and to my surprise it was another manufactor.

Pointing this out to her I asked if I could have her old knife and she take this new one instead so for six dollars and a trade I got me my first Vic floral.
Since then I have gotten two more and a pruner.   (They are great for whittling.)
