There is a train station within walking distance of the venue (if my googlefu hasn't failed me) so that is an option, £30odd for a return it looks like for me.

But i will have a good reason (in my eyes )Quote from: Micky d on January 03, 2009, 12:40:28 AMJust go on the theive between now and April and you'll be sorted for dosh

Think I'll just get up late, have some coffee, read the paper, load the car, have another coffee, take a relaxed drive there and still be there before you.
Ryan, if you want picking up from a station en route - let me know. Stations between my house and the venue are Tamworth, Burton, Lichfield, Cannock, Telford. If needs be it's a small detour to Stafford or Wolverhampton.
Don't forget my idea of having a kitty so we all bear some of the cost of our mates that have to travel further then the rest of us What do you all reckon
Quote from: Flash on January 03, 2009, 12:46:14 AMDon't forget my idea of having a kitty so we all bear some of the cost of our mates that have to travel further then the rest of us What do you all reckon Well I am slightly biased aren't I.
Here is how it would work?Following numbers are an example:We each put it £105 of us attend thats £50We tot up collective miles travelled (eg 500 miles) Salty thats land miles not nautical Each mile equals 10pNow if I only travel 10 miles I get back £1Dave K travels 40 miles, he gets back 40 X 10p equals £4.00.It just seems to share the cost somewhat and we are getting the accommodation for free. I know on the above example that I am £9.00 down but c'mon its worth it to see all attend.
Don't forget to add in the return journey.
Did none of you peons notice in my thread I clearly stated that ALL NUMBERS ARE EXAMPLES (Idiots bah humbug.....I'm cancelling it)
Lol - then it doesn't matter if you count the return or not? As long as we're all consistent then the ratio's the same innit?

That's obviously fine by me, but for guys like you and Dave etc that seems a bit pricey.

How about a cap then of £15 in the pot and call it a deal at that. Makes the travel a bit easier for our compadres
