My new original Wave
on: September 02, 2008, 02:30:22 PM
I got this beauty from forum member WH867 , a top fella.

I fixed a leaking laundry tap(seized up :o) yesterday & gave my new Wave a real work out  :D
Things I like - compact(very similar to my Pulse)
                 - outside opening & single hand opening main tools
                 - diamond file
                 - scissors are a decent size not like the ones on my Fuse
                 - the sheath & bit kit , great quality very nice
http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll287/multimat426/multitools/98f21124.jpg[/img]]
Now the bad the well documented flex between the handles , I was genuinely shocked when using the tool to undo screws & applying moderate torque too the tool at the amount of flex in the tool . I would be interested to know how they fixed this problem with the new Wave , Kwackman ,Bob  ? How many flippen flat screw driver bits can you put on a tool ??

Including the bit kit 7 flat screw driver bits , madness & no Awl  :ahhh :ahhh.I was shocked when checking the new Wave's specs that it to does not have a Awl , very odd IMHO. All in all I am very happy with my new retired LM it is in great nick & the sheath + bit kit are things of beauty , very nice. So thanks Dennis for selling me this great bit of kit  mate. Mat.

I've got an original Wave. Yeah, the Waves never had awls. :(

I don’t care for the stubby bit drivers on the new Waves, or the teeny-weeny scisssors. When a SAK has better drivers and scisssors than a MT, we got a problem.

Congrats on your new, old Wave. It’s a good tool.

Looks like you had similar thoughts as I did.  :-\

I say similar, as you did seem to like it and I just thought it was pants.  :D

Ben it is the sad collector in me that sees me buying tools that arguably are inferior to their newer counterparts  :D.Having said that my Riveted PST cost me a 1/4 of what most LM's retail for & too me it is worth so much more, probably because I spent a unholy amount of time trying to find it  :D. Having said that I am looking forward to completing my retired LM collection as I am looking at TI & Xti Charges  ::) , besides the 2 Charges I just need a SC2 to complete my retired LM collection. :o :D

Nice find there mat - looks to be in great condition. I have all those bits seperately, but not in that nice sheath - might have to look for one of those :D

Dennis has sent me some great stuff recently too - a great bloke!
I used to come here a lot.

That's a good looking set up. My old style Wave lives by the bed.
