I think the "bear-infested" woods is a big exaggeration by the media. From other articles, they say that the big forrest was home to some bears, that rarely attack humans.
I hate it when the media does stuff like that. Hypothermia and falling accidents kills way, way more people lost in the woods than bears.
I bet they would call the woods around my house, "predator infested" because a couple of wolves and and a few lynx have killed some sheep here over the last year.

They are very shy though. I have only seen one in the wild once.

We have them also in the woods around here, tho I haven't seen one live yet. Hunters seem to want to kill all of them, as well as wolves... Why is completely beyond me, because the hunters wouldn't eat them anyways...

And I agree, Lynx is a magnificent beast

I have long admired the German sense of humour and appreciated their skill at getting it across in the English language. This made me laugh:

Germany’s Bild newspaper promised on Thursday that Germans would not hog hotel sunloungers and would ditch their goalkeeper for the next penalty shootout, playing on friendly stereotypes in a last-ditch plea to Britons to stay in the European Union.

“Dear Brits, if you remain in the EU ... then we ourselves will recognise the Wembley goal,” Bild declared above a picture of Geoff Hurst’s controversial extra-time goal in the 1966 World Cup Final, when the English soccer team beat West Germany.

Touching on decades of rivalry on the soccer pitch, the paper said Germany would go without its goalkeeper in the next penalty shootout between England and Germany.
