Arrrrggggghhhh, now I need a Convoy S2

I'll second the Jetbeam Jet1 MK. Great little light for the money and crazy bright using 14500s.

Ramblings ahead!  :ahhh

Impressions of the light: wow! Worth the wait.  :tu:
Sure, a Skillhunt H03 can be cheaper, and is a lot brighter, but that’s not why I got this. I got this because I wanted a bigger and brighter edc supplement for my little Ti3, which previously was also my main camp light.

The light from the Nichia LED is smurfing nice, warm white and high CRI. Very pleasant to look at and use. Definitely worth the lower lumen trade off!
It’s a little floodier than the Ti3, which I like. Means you can light up ground for two people when walking.

The construction is good, anodising could be stronger, I’ve already chipped it with the clip.
Only comes in black as of yet.

The method of operation is an electronic switch in the head that is apparently the same as the one in the E02. To be honest, it’s a little small for this light and can be fiddly to use one handed until you figure out a technique. I like to gently push the switch with my nail tip.
The rubber cap sometimes “collapses” and has to be nudged into its convex shape again.
Overall not a big problem/s, just a quirk/s you learn to avoid when using.

The magnet is powerful.  :tu:

The last important thing... the UI.
The (small) paper manual comes with a map to navigate it.
Not as bad as it looks. Fiddle around with it to get used to it.
I personally like it very much, mainly because of the choice it offers.
The turbo and blinky modes are in their own group, which you click twice to access, so they are tucked out of the way in normal usage.

Accessories... the diffusers are a nice extra if you to use want them. The lanyard is fine, if you want to use it. So is the key ring.
The clip requires.... care to put on and take off. I don’t like it much, but it works. Just to let you know, if you clip it on the tail end for deeper carry, it rubs when opening and closing the tail cap, not good. And taking it off is harder than putting it on, I scratched the anodising with it.
The headband is cheap and stiff, but should get the job done if you require it. There are better headbands out there.

I’ve decided not to use any of these accessories for now, with the exception of the diffusers, as I am pocket carrying.
And I’ve started thinking of trying to make a magnetically attached lanyard, like on the Olight i7r.

I don't like those headbands.
Not much point the light being good if it ain't comfortable to wear when I need it.

I was thinking that you meant something worse.  :D

I’m inclined to agree with you here. The headband that came with this is rather cheap and stiff. Not a very good one I think.
But head use was a secondary priority (I got this for hand and edc use) so that’s fine with me.   :)

It's more of a design type fail than the elastic quality.
I often have to work well into the night I don't enjoy waking up the next morning still having two lines on my forehead.

Bit of this and that. Fenix, 4Sevens, Olight, ZebraLight, Black Diamond, ThruNite etc etc. Mostly older gen stuff though.

Hmm.... there doesn’t seem to have been much in the way of performance increases for AA/AAA in the last few years.
This Zebralight AA headlamp generation is about the same as the previous AA headlamp generation, maybe a little better, and my Manker is about the same as the previous generation, at half the price it used to sell for (though with less bells and whistles, and less QC control maybe).
The same seems to be true of the out-the-front lights, a Manker E11 can hit 400 lumens on an AA, same as a Zebralight.

The Thrunite Ti3 I got in 2016(released 2015) has the same efficiency and performance as more recent AAA lights, more in some cases.

Am I totally up in the clouds here?

It would be nice if these flashlights with magnets came with a magnetic lanyard. :dd:
Like the Olight i7r.
But they don’t  :( so I made one out of string, duct tape and two coins.  :)

It keeps the light vertical in my pocket, and is a safety line in case it falls out.

Manker sells the E02 (without headband) for $20, and the E02H (with headband) for $26.
I can tell you that this headband is NOT worth $6.  ::)
Smurf, Zebralight headbands are $6!
If we take the E02/E02H pricing at face value, the the E03H should be $24 if they were to sell it without headband.

If I were to wear E03H a lot as a headlamp, I might buy a better headband. But I only anticipate wearing it as a headlamp rarely, so I won’t.

A good set. :salute: :like:
You seem to have most usage scenarios covered.  :D :tu:
What about the Nitecore P12?
Do you have a whole collection of 18650 lights that you haven’t said anything about yet?

My list is rather shorter.
Thrunite Ti3 xp-g2 NW that I edc.
Manker E03H Nichia 219c that I am also edc’ing.
Cheap Chinese AA zoomie that I rarely use.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)
