Saw interesting looking axe when I was browsing my local Craigs List.

Copper Beryllium is non-sparking and used in places where flammable stuff is used.   

Very interesting, but I'd pass on it as well. I just don't think copper beryllium is as tough as steel.

I have heard of Copper Beryllium knives, and while I'm never getting one, I'm curious, how do these things hold an edge?
