Got a pretty big Gospel group coming to my church tomorrow evening.

The name of the Gospel group is "Ernie Couch and Revival". They're a fairly well known band in Gospel music. They're big enough to have sung with George Jones.

Anyway, what's impressive is that we're just a small country church. Usual attendance on a Sunday is usually under 50. We have lots of farmers and blue collar people, nothing high class by any means. We just decided to have a website in the last year or so. Somehow someone in the band stumbled on the website and actually contacted us. The person who does most of our website work is my wife so she's been setting most of this up. They aren't charging us anything, the only thing they're asking for is a love offering(donations)

So, tomorrow day we're gonna busting our ass trying to get everything just right at the church. Of course the local weatherguys are predicting a bunch of rain. Hopefully that doesn't keep people away.

I'm not a huge Gospel music fan but I have to admit these guys are pretty good. I'm pretty excited about this. The church didn't advertise this as good as they could have but like I said, it's a small country church and most of them are afraid of spending too much money on advertising.

But I'm still excited about it. I'm hoping and praying it turns out well.

Wish I could make it,love country gospel,but there has been to much rain between you and me in the last 24 hrs,with more coming.

They're saying we could get 8 inches by the time the weekend is over. They're predicting the remnants of Ike will merge with another front right over Southern Missouri and just rain like hell.

Well I'm back. They put on an AWESOME show. I think some of the older members were just blown away. They are so good. The rain kept a lot of people away but we did OK. Of course being Baptist we had to eat beforehand. 

My wife and I showed up to the church about 2 to start getting things ready. We had a LOT to get done before the concert. It started at 7 and lasted until about 845. After the concert we had about and hour and a half of more work helping them get everything tore down.

My back and legs are killing me, but I was hobbling around with my cane like a madman.     

All in all I think it was a big success. I'm hoping they'll come back.

That reminds me of a joke.

There's a class "show and tell" where the teacher told her students to bring in a symbol of their religion. Well, the next day the 1st kid gets up and says "I'm a Catholic, and this is a Rosary." Next, a girl stands up and says "I'm Jewish, and this is a Menorah". finally, another little boy stands up and says "I'm a Baptist, and this a casserole"
