This is a very nice and light eating tool to pack away on a camping trip. If you don't need a pair of thongs, this must might be the ticket.

Episode 88 - Gerber Ultimate Knife.
What happens when the Bear Grylls merchandizing deal evaporates, well you continue a few set pieces. This is the Gerber Ultimate Knife.
Rinse the orange off and bring in the green.

Note the removal of the survival patch that showed some useful signaling things that was on the back of the BG Ultimate knife. Also note you don't get the BG survial guide either.

At least you still get the same fire steel and diamon honing plate hidden inside of the sheath.

Still do not like that the fire steel is still pointing downwards.

The Gerber Ultimate knife features:
Firestriker + firestriking edge
Hammer pommel
Ergonomic rubber grip
Emergency whistle
Sharpening stone
I sort of like the BG livery better, along with the mini survival guide and signaling patch over this model for the same price. I also find it interesting that the Ultimate Pro knife which came out after this model, that fixed a few things, is no longer on offer.

I've actually had great luck with the BG Ultimate Knife on camping trips. It's a good all around knife. Chako, looking great and nice to see more of your collection!

This is an interesting tool with one major failing, or at least for me. The hook is wrapped around a shaft that does such a good job of locking it in place that I find it very hard to release the hook from its storage spot.

Episode 90 - Gerber Gerber Hatchet Keychain.
I have not seen too many plier based entries for Gerber, but I did notice some smaller EDC gear from them. I just added a few to the collection today and figured I should keep this thread somewhat current.
The Hatchet Keychain provides 3 essential functions.
Bottle opener
Flathead screwdriver
Package opener.
And of courser a place to hang it on your keys.

Episode 94 - Gerber Strap Cuter.
This came in what looks like to me is a bulk military package. Featuring a very nice strap cutter along with a plastic sheath with sever ways to attach it to something. A malice strap is included. Probably a more retail packaging exist for this product.

Looking good Chako! That keychain hatchet looks like a fun conversation starter if nothing else
Edit: The longer I look at that Hatchet the more interested I am in it. Does it seem to have a way to do Philips head screws on it?

I feel they could have added one easily enough, but no, there is no Philips driver on it.
