Opening drawers again today and found a few of my TSF Beast models I hadn't had out for awhile and was curious if any other forum members own one of Jim's knives.
These three are a full framed black cerakoted model. On the full frame, Jim indicated the rear is designed to also function as a glass breaker if needed. I've never tried it, but I'd like to. I've only gotten to use the regular spring loaded punch breakers which isn't as fun as whacking one with your knife butt sounds. Lol.
A pretty early model in the shorter frame with the fat blade and more upswept blade design.
And one of his Damascus versions with black hardware and double lugged. He uses a 300 layer 1095/1080/15N20 mix. I never really do anything special with this blade other than the once in awhile if I think if it wipe down and I've never detected any rust. Not having a lot of Damascus experience, I'm not sure if that's indicative of all Damascus or maybe this blend. Gets wicked sharp though.
You can kinda see in my lousy pictures the difference in his older fat blade as compared to a newer one. It's chunky.

If you haven't handled one of these before, they are a tough knife but not so bulky as to discourage EDC. Maybe worth considering if your wanting something a little different than the mainstream brands but still built very tough. I'd call these a mid-tech I suppose. I know he has also added a design change featuring an adjustable for wear blade stop, but I don't have one of those as yet.
Too many knives (or not enough?), too little time, too little money. Always a bad combo as I'm sure you all can relate to.
