I have been real happy with the Tops knives I've bought. I love carbon steel blades and Tops are just fantastic. I think their prices are fair, but I usually try and trade for a model that I'm looking for. A good example is the Tops Tracker which I traded for awhile back. The knife lists for just under $300, and I traded in the $200 range for it. The Tracker is my favorite Tops knife, followed by the Texas Toothpick.
Sometimes change is a good thing, other times not so much!

I've never heard anything negative about them :), but they are pretty expensive given the generally basic steel type's used :-\

They manufacture some of Roger Remund's designs (SwissBianco).  Based on my recent experiences with Roger, I think I would find someone else to give my money to.

They do seem to make some top-quality stuff though.

My only gripe with them is they use really common carbon steel which is not a bad thing, but they get crucible steel prices on the knives. Other than that if you can live with it they are nice and very good cust service!!

However also look into getting a custom piece made. there are a ton of makers out there that will do really nice work with excellent steel.

i actually like the fact that they still use very common carbon steels.i think that some part of the prices come from famous designer names, and from bit more kinkier blade forms cut on laser(?).

id rather buy a original tracker with all that weight and sturdiness, than some microscopic mini blade made from un identified it-dropped-from-skies space age steel :D,that doesnt survive thry hacking firewoods and stuff.i like all robust heavy duty knives over hi-tech.
