Come to think of it, it does rather.  :-[
I've seem something similar in Ann Summers, but it was called something different  :D

Somehow The Spurtle sounds fine for that too:ahhh  I'm never eating porridge again.
I wasn't going to say that :D :D

I knew it was naughty :ahhh

Scottish things should be naughty... it gets very cold up there and you need ways to entertain yourself and keep warm  :viking:

Is it difficult to do without a curved blade?

Neil
It's doable :), but it does take longer :-\

You need a Mr.Spoony! :pok: :D

I'm thinking of adding a Wharncliffe and a pen blade as another layer.

The Guyot utensils come in two sizes. The ones you show are called the "micro bites" and the longer (original) model in a complete lack of thought..."the utensil"
The longer ones are good at keeping your knuckes clean if you're eating MRE's or dehydrated food pouches. Good to 450°... easily cleaned, tines are a bit on the dullish side but seeing as how its nylon I assume could be carved down to a sharper proflie. Serrated knife works better than it looks. I keep mine in my bag of evil along with a aluminum straw from 7-11 and a couple of guyot designs "squishy bowls".
Works great and highly recommend.

I just got the Tibetan brand Spork sold by the Lighthound. It's similiar to the Brunton Spork with clip/caplifter but the bowl is narrower and the tines more fork-like.

LOL.... good grief, I haven't heard that in years!

I picked up a wooden spoon at Yo Sushi today and I think I shall make it in to a spork in your honour. I might just draw a crazy face on it too, then it would look like Ben :D

Nice, do you apply any kind of finish to them or is it best to leave them as is?

The finish has not been applied in the photo but what I have been using is Butcher Block finish. It is food safe and I believe Mineral oil based. It seals and dries to a hard glossy finish.

From what I have been reading straight mineral oil or Olive oil can be used, but the Olive oil can turn rancid if the spoon is not used on a regular basis.

I was curious as I imagined issues what with it being used for food.  Butcher's block oil makes a lot of sense.
