I the Necromancer, call upon the dead to do my bidding!

Mikko! I found 'em! (link) :viking:

They come in tomato (red), slate (black), and tangerine (orange).

Picked up an orange pair from REI.

I'm liking this idea, they're pretty stiff and easy to clean (boil them and wipe them off). It's made of a nylon-polymer, doesn't state what exactly but the boiling point of it is 450 F so no worries.

Also, 2% of the sales go to the Rocky Mouintain Institute... whatever that is. :D

The holes tempt me to make a paracord lanyard or clip them to a carabiner and carry them everywhere I go...

EDIT: Forgot to say they were $5, $5.25 including tax for me. I definitely prefer these over the LightMyFire sporks as having a knife on the fork makes no sense...

And there's a whole carbon negative grenehouse gas emissions spiel, look it up on the site if you're interested. ::)

Hey Mikko,

I just got these reproduction Lusikka-haarukkas in the mail....do they look accurate as far as size to the Finnish model?

The bowl of the spoon is enormous, larger than the US Mess Kit spoon...Finns must have really big mouths ::) :D

do they have the stamped tower-marks in them?if not, theyre not genuine issued ones.and yes theyre quite big,the designers though that they want to speed up the eating and that private can also use it to stir up the food better,so they made it bigger.atleast to me it works perfect.swedish utensils are about the best ive used, from any issued ones.

Neil

well i use "kuksa" to drink tea atleast in outdoors so i use what ever i have, either SPORK or LuHa.

the only thing with metal utensils, the issue..is that as even im turnin into space age teflon etc coated pans and they are easily ruined with any scratch made with steel utensils :(

so thats why im intrested in those i posted in the first page of this thread.to get some other too,not just Spork/light my fire-models.

hey did you know the Luhe is designed to attacc in the mess tin´s cap when stored.atleast to me in army it was teached and the only right way to store it.

Unfortunately, yes, I have. I imagine if I ever visited the UK I'd have to live off of fish and chip vendors.

are u sure thats finnish ?we dont have any cooking devices/windshields.its more like some oddball german.or swedish, ill have to check.

the lid-cap part is strange, the bottom of it is usually flat.
the luHa is supposed to fit,in opened position, itno that groove-kind-of part in the bottom part...well i cant say in english that now :(

Not really...maybe what I thought was a Luha is a German "Essbesteck" :P and that is a German Mess tin.

I get the ideal anyway

essesbesteck it is propably.finnish word for that mess tin is PAKKI and the LuHa comes evidently from words LUsikka(spork) and HAarukka(fork).but the most common word for that LuHa is "mysteeri",among soldiers.
