I'd say we all do more or less.  Anyone who carries a MT and SAK does.  Add in a dedicated folder and call it a back up to the back up.

Count me in. I always carry two knives. Three if you count the Minichamp as one.

Absolutely ! When I carry my Leek my backup is usually my Delica , or Mini Griptilian carried in my lunch bag , also I always have my Vic Rambler. When I travel by motorcycle this changes and a LM is in place of one of the above. So basically multiples are carried at all times.

Not exactly a dedicated backup knife, but I always have more than one blade on me.

Besides whatever primary folding knife is clipped to my pocket, I almost always have:

• Victorinox Executive on my keychain, with two blades, large and small (+ orange peeler, which is sort of a short serrated blade, I spose)
• Blade on whoever multitool is on my belt

In my summer load-out, I might swap out the folding knife and multitool for a single Skeletool or WingKick (Wingman with Sidekick plain-edge blade).

Even my lightest "dog days of summer" ultralight load-out I'll carry a light, slim folder (Al Mar Eagle Ultralight, Böker Urban Trapper, Kershaw Hawk) and a Style PS on the keychain. So, yeah, always more than one blade.

I never consider carrying more than one knife as a back-up.

It's just normal procedure.

Usually its the blades on whatever multitool I'm carrying.     My main knife is usually some old carbon steel US made knife, with an SAK or Leatherman to cover the tools part.

Not so much a dedicated backup, but I typically have multiple blades on my person and if i have my backpack with me, there are a couple in my possibles pouch.

I stopped carrying a tactical folder about 2 months ago. Closest I get now is a Gerber EAB Lite so that I have a blade for the really dirty/rough jobs that I wouldn't like to use my SAK or MT on.

Kershaw Cryo or R.A.M. Flipper on my person.  Kershaw Knockout or CRKT M16 in my winter jacket.  Boker Nano in my backpack.  Leatherman Wingman or SOG Switchplier 2.0 on me.  Believe it or not, I don't clink when I walk.

I was going to answer "No", but then I realized the Utili-key I have on my keys has a knife blade, so I guess it is the back-up blade to my Squirt P4.  The Utili-key is so small and light I forget it is there.

Usually yes. Always a Classic on my key ring, plus what ever SAK I'm pocket carrying (Pikachu or Woodsman). If I have my rucksack with me there is an Explorer in the FAK. Also, I carry my Spirit at work sometimes for odd-jobs:
