Idaho is slowly thawing out. We drove to Midvale hoping to ride to Cambridge for a 30 miler ... but ... Midvale still  has snow covered trails. Thus we resorted the Presley Trailhead on a freshly paved Weiser River Road.

Trail was softer, but I had no issues riding over it. My partner claimed the ground was too soft and made it harder to pedal. So we only got 6 miles in last weekend. Weather has been weird lately, and in the 50's (F) today. Supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow though.

First time the Greenspeed Magnum XL was on a trail for 2025 (or ever)

Debating on riding today. Low 50's with 15 MPH winds. 24 MPH gusts. As for recumbents we cut through the wind issues usually, yet there is that chill factor to weigh in too.

Since I do not have the same real estate on the GS Magnum like I had on the TT Rover, decided to try with the GoPro 6 Black mounted up above my left shoulder. I know having the rear light back there was way easier for me to access, to change mode or turn it off or on. Undecided about the camera being there. Although I like the new perspective, it sure captures my nose and stache from the 3rd eye mirror... :\

Every time you post this I head off to scour the internet for a decent, inexpensive tadpole, and so far I haven't found one.

Before you posted this particular time I was already looking as I thought it might go well in the bikerafting thread since I would have to switch to my canoe anyway for this kind of thing, maybe it would be worth going all the way to a tadpole rather than just a bicycle.

After all, my canoe is good for 995 pounds and 38 inches wide I feel like I could get a trike in there easily enough.

That bike packing canoe thing would be the way to go.

Recumbent trikes have their places, and some do haul trailers that people have taken to carry their canoes. They park and float. And recumbent trikes are a lot more fun and less pain to ride. Lot of people with disabilities and diseases ride them. Hand-trikes (Deltas) for those that cannot use their legs. People with Parkinson's disease have migrated to a recumbent trike, and those that cannot maintain a balance. So trikes have their advantages, but not to be placed on a canoe -- unless canoes have trailers too.   Most trikes can be outfitted to people that have handicaps, or are surviving a stroke, and more. And a lot of the manufacturers are coming out with trikes for heavier riders. Ian Sims, creator of the Greenspeed, make the larger capacity trikes cause a lot of Americans were overweight and there was a market for them.

  I like my trike.
Had missed riding the Specialized Rockhopper I bought way back in the early 90's, as the wheel bearings were seizing up on my Oldsmobile, and I needed transportation to work. Kept the Mtn Bike for over 20 years before taking in on a supposed easy trail on Brundage Mountain, broke my shoulder, and glad it was the left shoulder as I drove a stick shift. Could no longer hold weight on my shoulder, and can feel it to this day.
When I took the plunge for a cheaper recumbent trike that could hold my weight, I put it on plastic and a whole new world opened up. No pain, more enjoyment, could look up and around to see the world around me, no crotch pain, more fun. Found I could stop on an incline, grab an energy snack and water, rest, then continue while still mounted on three wheels. Have even taken naps on my trike, great way to soak in the sun from the shade of trees, and watch critters scurrying around me. Could never do that on a Mtn Bicycle. Recumbent trikes are essentially and easy chair on wheels.
