So, has anyone bought any new(ly priced) SBL products? I can say I'm not buying anything from them in the near future.... They were pricey, even more so when you added the shipping, even before, let alone now.

No, my girlfriend was planning to get a bag from them but after the price increase she opted for Marlondo Leather instead. While shipping was more expensive than SBL the total came out over 100$ cheaper than the old SBL price, never mind the new price. Quality looks great but I don't have anything from SBL to compare it to.

This ^^

Plus, add 14% VAT and an additional 30% import duty on all leather items into my country, to protect our local industry. This puts it far beyond what I am prepared to pay for leather goods, no matter how high the quality.

Import duty, VAT, shipping costs...

Their new logo should be: "Made in the USA - Made FOR the USA"

I think I am going to send them a email letting them know how I feel about the recent (absurd) price increase as well as how they have lost my business indefinitely.

They probably don't care, but it needs to be said.

And how do they justify it? Same items, same materials, same place of manufacture, right? ::)

Bad, baaad, move SBL, They'll loose A LOT of their customer base and they won't be able to get that back from sales from the folks that do remain loyal to the brand?
Here's the email they sent, pretty much says they can't do math.

snip

Wow. I like my small bifold, but this is a really embarrassing email by SBL. How could a company not realize they were selling a product for too cheap? And then turning around and making it seem like a good thing for customers that prices just doubled overnight? Yikes. Good luck with all that, glad I bought my wallet when I did.

Hey guys!
Long time no see  :D

A week ago I received my new SBL wallet - the new Bifold front pocket wallet.I"m trying to upload some pictures, but my PC is extremely slow, Photobucket is extremely annoying and I can't upload directly from my phone... so Ill post them when I'm finally successful, lol.

The wallet is a bit larger than I expected and wanted, it's bigger than both my CC ones and the original ID one. But of course it can accomodate more cards and cash, having more slots. The tobacco color is awesome as always. It also came in their new pouch I didn't expect to receive, which is also great.

If the pics ever upload, I'll show ya :D But again, thumbs up to SBL!

Hey guys!  :D everything is great with me! I've again changed my job, soon to be changing this one too, loool. now I'm working 14-hour shifts plus the commute ...it's a lot, lol. But I have two days off after every two shifts, so more time for the hobbies :D finally.

Yes, I'm carrying the wallet in the pocket, a bit bigger than what I'm used to but I love it. When it breaks in, it'll get a little more compact,I guess. And no, the picture uploading didn't work out. And the files are too large to upload as attachments. But maybe someone will soon also buy one and show, lol

My minimalist wallet, been using it for 3 years already.  I also have a slightly larger one but prefer this smaller one instead.

Nice to see you again!

There has been a massive problem with photobucket recently and all the pics have dropped off the forum

Can you attach pics using the 'attachments and other options' link below the text box? Might be the best option.

Remember the old phone "wallet" I had, in fake leather, made from a tablet sleeve? Well, the stitching was coming undone, the snap button was bending and the area around it was tearing up. So, I made a new sleeve, from real leather.

The stitching is not perfect (particularly in the final part) and there's some imperfections but it works great and I like the artisanal look (not to mention being something I made myself).

I have been drooling over a saddleback front pocket bifold, but never pulled the trigger because of the ridicilous shipping charges in their webshop.
I checked on amazon just for the smurf of it,  and found the same wallet apparently shipping from saddleback, but with 1/4 of the shipping price...
So now I just have to wait for the mail...  :D

Indeed, when you buy on Amazon the shipping is a lot cheper  :like: I was shocked many years ago when I checked the SBL site first, lol.

My wallet's going well :D It's a bit thinner now....due to ... mmm.. unemployment

@mrynn  :drool: :drool: :drool:

I forgot to mention that I like this new logo better... My previous wallets had that handwritten/italic/monotype corsiva type font and only "Saddleback" writtten on them.
