I'm checking in today as well. Swisschamp has been my regular carry these last few months, it's a non threatening tool to carry, especially with my dozens of hospital and clinic visits these last few months. Long story short, getting a tumor removed and then after that's done I have to get a second round of back surgery on L3, L4 and L5. Needless to say I haven't been on a good mood for a while, but seeing the posts here keep me in decent spirits.

Aw...that's rough, LW. Praying for you just now. Feel better!

Regarding SwissChamps, I need to get another one! I want to get one in rough condition I can keep and carry without feeling like I need to sell it.

Thank you both Jim and Barry, I appreciate it. The way I look at it, it's not for me to understand God's plan in life, we just have to roll with it!

This is the original SwissChamp with the SOS kit that I bought more than 30 years ago.

I thought is was the coolest piece of kit since sliced bread.LOL I also couldn't believe that Vic made a black scaled knife because I had never seen one up until then.

I have the original purchase receipt,I paid $89.95.That was a princely sum at that time,12/04/1989.

I remember those days Toolguy, and you're right.  Now, that's probably the best investment money wise anyone could make given what you got in return!

Well, I still don't have a SwissChamp in my possession, but I just won two from Boulder City off eBay.......

One is pretty beat up but functional. I think I will keep that one and sell the other.  :D

Functional is the keyword for me Jim.  I've had some collector pieces over the past few years, but I've pretty much moved them on.  I like to use mine!

Speaking of which, I had some mag glass fun with mine today.  No success, but smoke from a dried leaf!

very cool Barry,  if I'm not carrying a Little one, I may try the black or the Hoff with the pliers! Both are grey mag and fluted CS, no hole for straight pin.....need a P7 clip....

I like the best mags Tony.  The field of view isn't terrific, but I'm convinced that I can get a fire going with one of the Sun and the tinder are right.  I went from having no gray frames to having only gray frames, purely by accident.
