My favorite off brand combo
on: April 24, 2016, 10:29:52 PM
A no name Chinese copy of the PST that I got for free from a tobacco company several years ago attached to a Frost Cutlery Little Black Talon.  The MT has no markings other than Stainless Steel, China, 15 functions, and a B in a circle.  They are sewn together with nylon webbing to make a one piece unit that hangs perfectly from my belt at about the 7 o'clock position where it doesn't get knocked into things when I'm walking or poke me or snag on the chair when I sit down.  The tools don't lock on the multi tool but it is so light and slick I just enjoy it whenever I carry it.  With so many premium tool choices, this is what I'm carrying today.

Sweet and simple!

With the orientation of the blade from the pics, do you cross draw with your right hand? Or grab it upside down with your left?

Carrying at the 7 o'clock position means drawing left handed.  I would need arms like an orangutan if I wanted to reach that far back on my left side with my right hand. The Little Black Talon works for this though because it easily finds its way back into the plastic scabbard and locks in place with a flex tab.  No fumbling required.

Nice!  Perhaps it was made by Frost too?   Frost made an SAK clone when I started collecting in about '06 listed in the Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalog.

As a kid, I found a Coast Micro Toolbox at a local farm store for less than $10--I used that little thing a lot and still have it now.  The scissors goofed up somehow and I had a hard time putting them back in--even now.
