Is anyone offering PX scissor-opening lessons?

Really?

Step 1: "Hold the beautiful and incredibly nice PX in your right hand, with the legendary Victorinox Shield and Cross oriented facing toward your own person." "Nice. Well done, children."

Step 2: "With your left (sinister) hand, use your thumbnail to engage the nail-nick." "Wow, you all really have a knack for this." "Now; using your left-hand thumbnail and your right-hand fingers, pull the scissors out and up while you pull the body of the PX down." "That's right, boys and girls." "You have now deployed the legendary SAK 91/93mm scissors." "Many sheeple don't know how to do this complex task, but you have!" "Wow, you are amazing and will probably become astronauts based on this one skill alone!"

Step 3: Snip something.

I'm right-handed, but even I don't have an issue deploying the PX scissors. I find it hard to believe that a talented musician who can manipulate an E-string with his left hand, whilst strumming a B string with his right hand, has difficulty of opening a pair of scissors.  :twak:

This, from a musical incompetent and overall klutz.

Perhaps a few minutes practice?   :pok:

Ok, just went & dug mine out of the drawer, I tried both opening with the right &  left thumbs in the nail nick. Admittedly I have tough nails but I had no trouble opening either way. Left thumbnail in the nail nick was easier though. It was noticeably easier than using the right thumb. At least for me.........YMMV.

Butch,

I've gotten to an age where I like to take a nap in the afternoon. Might be a short nap, but a little nap is nice. However, sometimes I have a dream. Sometimes a nice dream, one where I'm eating ice cream on a warm day while puppies play and tomatoes ripen in the sun. But sometimes the dreams aren't so pleasant. I had a bad dream the other day. In this dream I handed my nephew a standard flat-head/slotted screwdriver. He looked at me and asked where the "on" button was. The ground seemed to melt under my feet. Fortunately I woke up before anything more worrisome occurred.

Not sure why I mentioned that dream here.....maybe I need another nap..... ;)

I'm doing a 180° on my previous thumb suggestion, I found a better way, hold in right hand with shield facing down and key ring facing right you can grab the nick with your left index fingernail and get it started and then let your thumb finish the job as its in the proper place for us ape related creatures.

this method is not as awkward and you don't feel like your gonna slice yourself as with the thumb/shield up method

Ok, this dream is telling us something. It may be significant that it was your nephew, not a son or daughter. Of course you may not have a son or daughter, so it may not be anything other than it was your nephew. Was the screwdriver a Craftsman, Snapon, Mac, Proto or a cheapo wooden handled on from the 99 cent bin? The brand could have great meaning. Especially if the brand name rhymes with your nephews name.
Now to put this all in context, if this were a Peanuts comic strip, I would be sitting in the Doctors booth with my Lucy mask on & telling you to pay 5 cents please................. heckydern I don't know???????????????
