I got in a Pioneer X yesterday, without first reading anybody's comments on the knife. Within the first couple minutes of playing with it, I was sort of convinced that maybe mine was defective,, as it was so hard to get at the nail nick on the scissors. But now after a bit of reading, I see that this is a common concern. It's not really that bad, and I probably wouldn't even mention it if was from any other manufacturer. I guess I'm just used to Victorinox always nailing this stuff perfectly.

Will I carry it? I'm not sure yet. It feels quite a bit heavier and fatter than my precious OC Pioneer, and I find the standard silver alox to be kind of boring. I think I may have to get myself a colored one if I'm going to give it a real chance. I may require a pocket clip as well, due to the weight.

I can't say the weight of my green X bothers me at all. I mean there are plenty of SAKs which I find too bulky and heavy to bother with but the X seems to me to be just about perfect.
I do wish Victorinox were a bit more liberal with their coloured alox - I've only ever seen the X in standard red, blue and green (though I think there are two shades of green - I would call mine a nice & dark British Racing Green) - but some other funky colours would be very welcome.
An orange Pioneer X would basically be my grail SAK... let's see if Vic ever makes one in my lifetime!

Does anyone know where I can get a Pioneer X (Alox, Blue) :gimme:  :drool: either in, or shipped to, the UK.

I've tried all the well known sites (and the Swiss Store, London) to no avail. All I can get is the bog standard silver.. :rant:

I have checked the website you kindly suggested unfortunatley, it appears they don't deliver to the UK (it's not an option on the drop down menu)

I can only presume that this is due to the restrictions put in place over the last few years (Offensive Weapons Act 2019) I had the same problem trying to order a Leatherman from across the pond  :ahhh :rant:
