Murphy Blades Hand Made
on: May 09, 2016, 10:56:06 PM
I cam across this printing block on the internet from a salvage dealer in the Millwaukie OR area by pure happenstance as a result of a very broad google search after becoming very interested in lesser known fighting knives in WWII.

Dave Murphy originally worked for Gerber, and eventually made combat knives with a very simple cast-aluminum solid handle for soldiers in WWII.

The printing block was fairly inexpensive, his authentic knives are not on the other hand. I hope to get one eventually. The printing block is very unique and I am excited about it.

Glad you posted this.   Had I not seen this before, I probably would pass this fighting knife up--confusing for tableware or a kitchen knife.

Just in from the mailbox after work, a very fitting knife for me for Memorial Day. All of the provenance from the original purchase and hand signed from the maker. I'm really liking this knife, I'll have it for a very long time. My grandfather flew a number of missions out of Scotland as a B-17 Bombardier for the Army Air Corps and he was shot down over occupied France and made it home many months later.

I'm not able to find this knife anywhere, I've scoured the internet trying to find information on it. Anyone know of this sort of thing or know of anyone that might?
