Dressy "tactical" knife at an affordable price?
on: May 18, 2016, 12:13:38 PM
I mean what knife could you suggest that looks classy, but has OHO, locking system and a pocket clip, but costs up to 100 USD.

Something like the Spyderco Delica MOP, but at 300 USD it's far above my budget:

CRKT M16
SRM,Ganzo etc.

Cold Steel should also have a few...

(I do not really do dressy, with locking knives...)

Try the CRKT Heihi, I picked mine up at Lowes on clearance for 9.99.

Well, there are lots: Spydercos: Air, Phoenix, MOP/Abalone Kiwi, Valloton, Hungarian (even if the last two are a bit too big), the CRK Sebenza but they are all either very expensive or discontinued or both...

I was looking for something like a Spydie Delica or SRM 710 but in a nicer material: MOP, Nishijin, Wood, Horn, Bone etc.

The closest thing I have is the Ganzo 727 in Ebony but it's a bit too bulky for office carry. I was looking for something like the Rough Rider Stoneworx/Colt Exotic series but with OHO, clip and lock...

The M16? Seriously? It's the least dressy knife ever made

The Heiho is a nice idea. Looks like a baby katana. Will put it in the "maybe" list...

CRKT not CRK

Depending on your taste I would say the following are options:
Fossil
Deviation
Swindle
I really like the Klecker collaborations, but only the smaller one is in price range.

Delica 4 in SS 8a little over $100, though...)

The dragonfly, a little cheaper, also near $100:

Maybe something from the Byrd line?...

It all depends on your taste, too. What kind of lines/material you prefer.

Honestly I'm starting to lean more and more towards http://www.knifecenter.com/item/SP11TIPD/spyderco-c11tipd-delica-4-flat-ground-vg10-damascus-plain-blade-titanium-handles

But it's far out of my budget and I heard the handles scratch easily...

This Bear and Son lock back looks great, and you can get it for about $100.00. I have the non-damascus version and it is a great looking knife!

Spyderco Chaparral is around $110 - if CF is dressy enough?

The Nishijin Cricket is around $90 ; SS Harpy too.

You could always buy something reasonable you like and get some aftermarket wood scales or another material of your choice.
