Whenever I think of a sport/racing bike I can't help but think that I'd just prefer to have a T-Rex:

(Image removed from quote.)

I'll admit that many racing bikes are nice, they just aren't for me.

There's just something special about doing 140mph on your knee that you never quite get out of your system :)

those vtr´s have pretty damn fine noise with some free flowing exhausts, theyre pretty commen her and seems like everyone gets rid of those factory noise/power killer cans.

I think a Valkrie has been on Def's wanted list about as long as I can remember... I pretty much keep expecting him to show up at my door driving one...

Yeah, I have loved the Valkyrie since the moment I laid eyes on it, even back when they only had a 1500cc engine!

I have always loved Triumph, but they are rarer than hen's teeth here.  That's a gorgeous machine though!

I was looking at that a year ago, it looks great but has poor reviews.  If it were made more solid I would be all over it.

If you guys want to get into classic bikes, there's always been something about the old war era Zundapps that always caught my eye!

Might as well and resurrect my own thread.

Got this bike about a year and a half ago.  Kawasaki Versys 2008

Great all around bike, does well in traffic.  I sit high enough where I can see over cars.  It's also a pretty good long range cruising bike.  Not as nice a cruiser as my Harley Road King, but good enough for day trips.

Here's some  pics I took last summer at one of Minnesota's 10,000 Lakes.

And some in the garage pics:

It's a significant upgrade over the old EX500.  WAY better suspension, modern engine design, and I love the monoshock.  :tu:

I quoted you just so I'd get another pic of my bike up.  :D

If you're mechanically inclined, no.  They are actually really well thought out, maintenance wise.

I do timing belts, valves (even changed a couple shims), plugs, chain, brakes, clutch, fluids and electrical.

I think the intervals for belts are shorter than most, but really, it's a 30 minute job to change them.

It's expensive IF you have to find someone else to do the maintenance for you.

I was just wondering. The shop that I bought my triumph at also sells ducatis. I looked at a monster 1098. The sells person was going on and on about the up keep on them. Do you really have to use the one type of shell oil they call for?
