I was just wondering. The shop that I bought my triumph at also sells ducatis. I looked at a monster 1098. The sells person was going on and on about the up keep on them. Do you really have to use the one type of shell oil they call for?

Nope. Use the oil of your choice (of proper viscosity).

The 1098 is a little more maintenance because it has 4V per cylinder instead of 2V.  I'm told it's more work but not twice as much work.  Personally, I don't need THAT much horsepower, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate to get Testatretta motor.

I couldn't resist having a looksee in this thread - I have a long standing affection for bikes
You could call me bikecurious I guess.... ha de ha

I don't know much about them, just like what I like really. This included an old Kwacker LTD450 like the one below which I nearly got married over when I was 17. He was nice too, but that bike made me smile a lot  :D

A good friend of mine has a z1000 which I really like too. He's taken all the badges off it and it's all matt black and chrome. Looks damn fine and goes like cr*p off a shovel  >:D

I think racing bikes are kind cool, but they don't have the same effect on me. Old Triumphs, Nortons and BSAs kind float my boat too :D
