OH Trekker Blade Tip Re-Profile

Hi guys,

I love my OH Trekker NS, however the blunt tip to the blade is a real bugbear. Has anyone re-profiled the tip of their OH Trekker? I'm wondering how easy it is to do? Or if possible if there's anybody on here in the UK that could do it for me?

I've added a pic to show the comparison with the non OHO Trekker.

Apologies if this has been asked before, I've done a search but didn't find anything.

With a edge pro it's super easy and there are plenty of rip off brands that are almost as good and will work fine for it

Syph showed a reprofiled 111 IIRC....

It's very easy.  I removed metal from the top of the blade so I didn't had to ReSharpen the edge.

With power tools it took me 2 minutes but you could do the same with a file then sandpaper to remove the file marks.

Thanks for the replies guys. I wasn't aware of the sharpening system mentioned, I might grab a cheap one to have a play with 👍

The pic of Syph's mod is exactly what I'm after. Syph, did you just essentially flatten the top, rounded portion of the tip? (Apologies, I'm not confident with this sort of thing!)

Yup i removed metal from about 1 inch along the top of the blade to make it looks smooth.  You dont even have to remove much

Thanks Syph, I'm going to give it a go, just found an electric hand sander in the shed which should do the trick 👍

Here's what the top of my blade looks like.  After sanding it you can really tell I did any grinding on it.

Make sure to take plenty of pics of the final product  . Good luck and go slow, you got this.

I fixed mine, it took less than 5 mins to grind the tip of the spine down with 200 grit sandpaper on a flat pane of glass.
