I will have to look into that. That looks like something I would love to read.
Mainly, adventure kayak and rapid. So far it is one of the best ways I have found to learn more about kayaking, something I need.
I wish MTO has a magazine you know it could have a "deep SAK knowledge" reoccurring section by jazzbassa "Photos of Favorites" by Dan (and others here too)a "Review of the Week" an "Unintended uses of common tools" spot where people are telling other ways to use tools (the hook as a stand for example)maybe even a "spot the difference" and a MTO related crossword puzzle.we might even be able to get some sponsorship money from Victorinox, Leatherman, SOG, Gerber, Etc.
I have a subscription to Jeep magazine for my tablet but I rarely do more than flip through it.Quote from: yud on May 16, 2016, 02:33:17 AMMainly, adventure kayak and rapid. So far it is one of the best ways I have found to learn more about kayaking, something I need.I read a few kayak mags online, but it is more of an e-zine.To be honest, I learn more about kayaking when I'm out kayaking than by any other method. I have little interest in reading about it or watching videos, I just want to go out and do it.
Well, with kayaking it's great because there are really only two outcomes- figure it out quickly or become a statistic. So far I've avoided being a statistic..... but some days were probably closer than I'd like to admit!I was once conned into taking a kayak rescue course (at a mere $10) by a friend (who also required me to pay their $10 as well) and everything we learned about water entries and the like I'd already figured out on my own years before.... and in freezing cold water too.I'm not saying I know everything- even I wouldn't be dumb enough to make a claim like that. But I do know the things I need to know for what I do, and I learned them by doing. The magazines are nice to look at (big fan of Rapid Media) but I'm pretty good on my own. That having been said, Megan is insisting I take a whitewater course before getting a whitewater boat and trying to drown myself.Def
I've rarely had magazines in the past few years, since most of what I read is available online. In the past I used to get Electronics, PC (Gaming and in general) and similar, and regularly checked out old issues of FineScale Modeler from the library.
