Munkees Hex Tool.
on: May 16, 2016, 12:30:30 AM
I found this in a near by town. This appeared to be the most functional on the display, as the majority of the items appeared to be fancy bottle openers. However, after looking at the companies web site, I may have to take another visit in the near future to see what other interesting things there are on that display.

Anyhow, this is the Hex Tool. It is light due to its aluminium construction.

They certainly have some... interesting designs. I appreciate the attempts at innovation, but there's also something to be said for practicality

My wife has Munkees Seahorse on her keychain. It is really soft metal and pretty beaten up.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Yes, aluminium won't stand the test of time.

I have seen many of those tools before, on many other websites.  In fact, I have the Fishbone:

My guess is, like a lot of companies, these guys are just buying them out of a catalogue from manufacturers in Asia then reselling them under their own brand.

I wouldn't try that hex tool on any decently tightened screw or as a hex-bit driver. You're most likely to end up with a 'nicely' rounded hole even without much force applied  8)
