Of my eighty lights, only two of them are actually headlamps.  But, a headlamp can be invaluable, when you need to do hands-free work and need solid portable illumination.

Left: Fenix HP25
Right: Nitecore HC50

Of these two, the HC50 is my favorite, by far.

Much more solid construction, uses a single 18650 battery.  Great interface, with additional red LEDs.

Have you ever ran 2xCR123's in the Nitecore?

Any spacing issues?

I only have 4 18650's, but a ton of CR123s, my TM11 won't really accept them.

I have several BD Gizmos. Simple, work great and have fared well the last 4 years. I am researching AA head lamps. The gizmo are AAA.

I haven't used CR123 batteries in any of my lights in about three years, or longer.  The few CR123 lights I have left (five, in all), are currently using Tenergy LiFePO4 rechargeables, instead.  I got really tired of replacing CR123 batteries in my lights, every week.  That got super expensive, super quick.

I've only ever used 18650 batteries in most of my Nitecore lights.  My SRT3 uses a 14500 battery (with the included extension).

What brand/model of 18650 batteries are you trying to use in your TM11?

It's one headlamp so far, but could become many more...

At first I didn't really want a headlamp, looking weird and so on.
But the Fenix HL50 proved its worth more than once and not having to bite on a flashlight improves workplace safety mightily ;-)

Does anyone have Zebralight-experience?

Around the house and BBQ: Fenix HL30 (2x AA),
Workshop, and another one in the car: HL50 (CR123 or AA) and
EDC bag: Zebralight H52 (AA).

I bought a FENIX HL30 for my wife. I like it so much I'm seriously considering getting one for myself, too.

With a SAK Climber for reference.

The HL30 replaced this headlamp from SILVA that still keeps failing miserably. The black piece and another, white one that's not pictured just fell in my hand as I took the lamp out of the drawer. In some other thread I said it was the battery cap that broke the first time I went to change batteries, without any abuse whatsoever -without any use, really. It was actually the part that combined the switch and attachment point to the headband.

Yep, I have several (mostly using AA eneloops, but  also have one 18650 one).  My go-to headlamps, preferred above all others (not that I have that many others).

I love the Zebralight UI, and having the choice of several beam patterns is also very handy.  I mostly use them for close-up work, where the wide, even illumination of the reflector-less ones (eg H502) is great.

I just got one of the BD Spot torches as well. So much better than my previous head torch. Lots of useful modes and it can be locked for storage so it can't turn on in your pack. Red light will be good for astronomy too  :tu:

I have a Black Diamond Cosmo (next one down from Spot I think). Red light is good for night-flying. Uses three AAAs so when I buy a 4-pack the extra goes in my Olight.
The pivot is getting sloppy unfortunately.

Sorry for the late reply.
They both seem to work pretty good.
The Ion does whine a little when dimmed but that only seems to bother me.
Recently I noticed the lens has a couple cracks and I do not recall it being knocked or dropped.
I do like them and I'll continue to use them however I'll also be saving up to try out the H52W zebralight.

There are a few LED upgrades for that one, still a very reliable light. :tu: How's the battery compartment holding up, the clamps? That's what usually goes first and I've seen quite a few of them being ducttaped together to hold the batteries in.

I must say that it took a while before this happened ...  :D

It could be worse though, over here we sometimes refer to a woman's bosom by saying "she's got nice headlights" (but in dutch headlights would be "koplampen" ...).

Note to myself:  I need to post a pic here from my Petzl Tikka XP instead of making stupid remarks ...  :twak:
