Giving the Vic in the title a clippoint and leaving it out in the trailer (but replacing it with some OTF) doesn't feel right though.

Agreed.... My guess is Victorinox wasn't interested in sponsoring them.

I'm surprised Leatherman, Gerber, SOG, CRKT etc didn't jump at the chance.

I was just thinking about the original show.  Was wondering why the bad guys never frisked or patted down McGyver before placing him and companions in locked room ???

Of course, if they had, then the show would not easily continued...

I dunno... Everything about this remake feels wrong.

It's like a remake of Walker Texas Ranger, where you replace Chuck Norris with Justin Bieber. Wrong. :ahhh

I see a lot of fancy tech and action. Pretty much the norm today.
Funny how movie tech at the moment is all transparent screens and such.
Will it look dated in 30 years?  :D
