Cap crimper models?
on: May 21, 2016, 10:12:06 PM
I was wondering if anyone out there knows off hand which LM come with cap crimpers? I know that the OG SuperTool, PST, SuperTool 300 and Charge Tti come with them (some of them come in SS and BO) plus the SuperTool 300 has an EOD version that actually done away with it's reg cap crimper model (anyone know a specific year?)  I am not sure about several other models especially some of the newer models. Any and all help plus pics if you have them ;) would be great  This is for the MT Encyclopedia

The PST has two variations of CC round and oval. The round was the early ones then switched to the oval style.

I am thinking I have asked that question before and as far as I know I don't think it ever had cap crimpers :tu:

I've never seen one, and I must have looked at hundreds.  I've also never seen an actual production Japanese Mini, but I have seen a photo of what I think may have been a prototype one.

The PST has two variations of CC round and oval. The round was the early ones then switched to the oval style.

There were some complaints on the round CC, at least here in Norway.  The crimper pinched holes in the aluminum cap.  Our EOD speSmurfpillsts used to grind off the sharp corners to allow crimping without pinching and weakening the crimp.
Did someone tell Leathermans R&D department?

That is some good info  I would say that wasn't the only part of the world having that problem and that is probably why they made the change :tu:
