I agree with the Mora but I disagree with the "hard use" part. They're really not constructed for it, if you've ever taken the birch handle ones apart they aren't that secure. And the plastic ones...They're plastic. But yes, everyone should keep a Mora for light tasks.
Also, I can buy a couple of Moras and still have enough left over for a proper prybar, hatchet, saw, machete and shovel. Guess my Mora would last a really long time then.

But there too rich for my blood these day's All of you people are too expensive. I've never spent more than $25 on an axe/knife. And only $40 on ONE multitool. EDIT: Don't worry about it. It's not like I use these things professionally anyway~
I've no problem with spending major dosh on a knife, after all in the field there you life insurance Just don't have the reddies to do it anymore
[ignorant hat] how would my F1 compare to all these tough knives? Just so i have a sort of base line to judge how tough these knives you are talking about are [/ignorant hat]
Now I can't say I have put it to hard use, but I think the Cold Steel Trailmaster would be a good contender.

and....I'd trust it way more than any CS!

Just don't pay their MSRP.And you'd best be paying for a hunk of 1055 carbon steel or VG-10. I know they did some 420 junk earlier but... *shrugs*
I have a Cold Steel SRK in Carbon V (I guess now it's made out of AUS and it's been pretty durable.
