Well, love them or hate them, I badly want an American Lawman and Broken Skull

I want many more, but these are the ones that right now I feel I can't live without

I actually want those knives if Spyderco made a copy of each

The Lawman is not that offensive, but I keep think of getting the BS, taking it apart and sanding the blade........I don't want to do that with a new knife!

Speaking of which, some of those new CS models with the funny new hollow thumb stud.......it seems almost too easy to take out the little grub screw, remove the thumb stud and be left with a Sydie hole

From videos reviews it looks functional at least.......but very tacky

I just wouldn't want to be left with that little hole left by the grub screw, come to think of it the grub screw looks smurf

For a <4” blade, no other blade shapes cut better than hawkbill, as long as not cutting on a large surface like cutting board.

You see, that's where you got me.....
TBH I always considered any hawkbill blade a weapon, I like them but figured they were impractical.....and somewhat fragile! That's why I never could understand the Salts with hawkbills......

I like the look and blade shape of the Byrd the most.....

Weapon or tool, all depends on how it is used. Just like other blade shapes.
Try one and you will know, the Byrd is only $20, worth every penny.

The family has grown a little; I’m also thinking Recon 1 or Lawman next.
The resemblance is there in branding and lock but they are worlds apart in many aspects. Mostly the materials used.

two very good ones! That blue is pretty, I drooled over some blue Talwars not long ago (still do )
as Gerhard said, due to size similarity and overall  dimensions I'd go for the Layman next to add variety and a small tank to your Cold Steels.  :salute:
Small but mighty there's also the Micro Recon and my favorite, the Hold Out III:
