I have it on two knives and have been happy with it so far, why would it be crappy? What do you base your opinion on?

Nothing.  :salute: Absolute gut reaction to "surgical stainless steel"

I can honestly say every 4116 CS I bought was despite the steel, believe only the Kudu and Eland.

My opinion changed watching Cedric & Ada's testing video.

Don't mind admitting I was wrong  ..........but I can't say there are now CS's I'm considering because of this change of heart.

breaking bad or some country song reference?
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

sorry I don't have those
but I've heard  good things to them for a very budget, simple steel knife alternative to the Moras or Hultafors, but also some negative views
I liked this review by GIdeonstactical, very critic and raises good points  :salute:

all my modern Cold Steels are still CTS-XHP  :P

....And I watch them religiously!  :salute:

I tend to take the word of the sharpeners like ApostleP when it comes to the steel, from there my longing for some XHP  :dd:

S35 is a very good steel either way......

I still got my CS Kukri, and chopper.
They are in the shed sleeping, as have not been active outdoors, but will be used again.
Great tools.

Peacent, that Espada rocks!  In this case, size does count.  Which is why, a Cold Steel 4 Max is on my want-list. :o :D

Cold Steel makes / used to make knives, which were much more than just ‚influenced’ by other makers and manufacturers. Of course without asking them. That’s just one of reasons why some people stay away from CS. Some examples: Black Sable -> blade copied from TigheStick by Brian Tighe; Black Talon -> Spyderco Civilian variant; Caledonian Edge -> Spike by Phil Boguszewski; GI Tanto - copy of Strider MT Tanto. There are more of course. So... CS not for me. You asked, you got answer.

Of course they have some genuine classics in a lineup, like SRK, Trial Master Bowie series, or Tanto series. But with some actions from the past... I sold them all and I’m not going back. Too bad, as I liked SRK.

Fondled a ProLite the other day......

Recently changed my mind about 4116 Stainless, taking that into consideration a pretty great knife......

Liner-less plastic handled folders rule.....
