I carried the Pro Lite for today's lift.

They rock anOnemus!  Cold Steel are really upping their game with the Demko-models. The action is smooth-as-butter, with a solid lock-up.  I like big blades, so this one is totally, for me.  Looking at the SR-1, and 4 Max too.

I bought an AD10 recently (and some Golden Eyes and Colossus before that, thanks Woot!). The build is pretty impressive. I just hate the naming scheme CS has on their products. AK47, Broken Skull, Golden Eye...? so lame.

It’s like they ask for names and throw them into a hat and pick out one. You would think a little more effort would be expected.

AD10 little brother?

I like the scales on the Swift, it's a pretty close comparison to the AD-10 Vjeko.  Many prefer the Ultimate Hunter over the AD, but whatever 'floats-your-boat' as they say. ::)  They 'tri-ad' lock is the deal-closer for most folks.  Looking at both the SR-1, and the 'Mighty 4-Max'.  Those blades are calling me.  >:D

I think a simple 'alpha-numeric' designation would be adequate.  But I guess, that's why they pay for a 'sales and marketing' department.  In the end, does it do what it's billed to do, or not?  You don't have to over-dramatize a great product, with a sappy name.  Word of mouth is your best sales generator.

I think, that their Demko-inspired line is one of the best in recent years.  My AD-10 is impressive for a production-blade.  :iagree:

Have been stalking this post for awhile, thought I might chime in. I know there are those in the knife community who get real hot under the collar during Cold Steel discussions. I certainly am not one of those. Although I do not have a great number of Cold Steel blades, I have yet to own one that I had any complaint about. I recently bought a Cold Steel Luzon for my camping gear as a folding food prep knife. It is well under $100, and one heck of a hardy knife.

I also bought the Roman Gladius style machete a few years ago, and I think it is tough as nails. I also own the Cold Steel Hand and a Half sword for my sword collection and, although the cheapest sword by far, it is the one that handles best. I did modify the sword by shortening the blade length about 3 inches (remove the handle and trim down the blade from the cross-guard side). I also reinforced the sword construction by welding the pommel on. I am ready for war!
Rather mundane quote entered here to approximate humor.

Another stalker here. Came for recommendations, gents.
After looking at kwakster's modified machete, decided to get myself CS blade for future trips. Had a Kabar machete a while back but it seemed a bit thicker and heavier than some others.
Currently looking at CS Latin Machete at first (as it's lighter and longer than my previous blade), but I'm also considering CS Gurkha Kukri as it might be more compact and it seems to be more suitable for light brush. So what about the steel, does it hold up half way decent? I guess, all of them were built for particular types of chopping. So from your experience which one would be better for multitasking, curved blades or straight machetes? I'm looking for a large camp knife /clearing brush and small trees (and something to help me around the yard).
So any recommendations are welcome.

My third Cold Steel landed today.  The 4 Max, the ultimate 'zombie-stopper' from Demko, and Cold Steel.  If you've been contemplating one-of-these, go for the Italian-version.  Fit and finish is truly outstanding.  The CPM-20V steel in the blade is Crucible's answer to Bohler's M390.  Essentially, the same alloys with differing amounts of chromium.

Pocket-clip set, pivot lubed, and ready-to-rock!

Excellent 'back-up' Ray.  Six in the mag, and one-in-the-spout.  Typically, I tote two-extra mags.  I believe the stainless-steel frames are made for NAA, by Kahr Arms.  Totally, reliable for a 'blow-back' operated pistol.  It has an extractor-only, and no ejector.  After-it-fires, the next round-chambered pushes the spent-casing out the ejection-port.  No-option to lock-the-slide on this one.  Last-round needs to be "hand-ejected" by racking-the-slide.  Just re-insert full-mag, and rack-the-slide, and your ready-for-business.  Seven yards is the optimum-range on this pistol.  Runs smoothly with the 95-gr. plus .380 ACP ammo.    :like:

No problem, Ray.  Guardian is a nice carry.  Currently, looking at some other 9mm pocket-guns for EDC-ing.  A lot of choices on the market now.  :dunno: :hatsoff:
