Euro 2016
on: June 11, 2016, 03:57:49 PM
Anyone watching?

I know we don't exactly have many football fans here but some of us do like the game.

(And if anyone calls it socker, I'm gonna ban him/her for 24h, serously >:D always wanted to try that. And no politics)

Right now Little Albania aka Switzerland is leading 1:0 against real Albania.

Any matches you're looking forward too?

Not really - it usually gets more interesting towards the end, but in general football, with all the precious players worried about breaking any bones has been very tame the past few years.

I will definitely be watching some matches..

I love good football, I hope we get to see some. I hate most of the hi-tech balls they've been using lately; this new one seems OK.

I'll probably be watching some of the evening matches and the ones after the groups stage.

Not sure France's first goal should have counted yesterday. I think there may have been a foul on Romania's goalie. Their winning goal was great though!

Watched both games so far. Anyone else see Payet's absolute rocket of a
goal off his 'weaker' left foot for France last night? Oh and he laid on the cross for Giroud's header and generally ran the game.

Kante looked good as well, he just seems to turn up everywhere in front of the back four.

I think he scored 12 goals for West Ham from midfield, plus all the assists he created for others. Some of the free kicks he scored were just outstanding.

Wales v Slovakia up next, then England v Russia. That's my Saturday evening sorted.

I'll try to see some, and the final for sure. Unfortunatelly Netherlands didn't qualify, neither Greece. I'm with France, unless some country shows excellence (something not very probable).

i'll wait 'till the first round is over to throw my prediction out since you never know how much the judges will screw it up. last time Croatia played against Turkey, I ended up on youtube in about a 20 minute video cussing so much that the most foul mouthed sailor would look like a saint

in other news, Copa America is also on

I've been watching futbol lately but it's been COPA instead of Euro. US needs to win or draw today against Paraguay today to stay alive.

US should be pretty confident of getting a result in this, esp after you tonked poor old Costa Rica in midweek.

I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from the last game. From a tie, to winning, to dropping out within minutes. Haven't felt that bad after a game ever before or since.

Wales scores

They are a limited side, but are organised, spirited, hard-working and have one world class player in Bale. Once he gets on his bike and starts running at players, he is just about impossible to stop. I am dreading the Wales v England game already.  :-[

don't forget it happened in non existent time. hence my wonderful chorus of cussing
