Bladeless Sak's?

On your travel's, have any of you come across any full sized bladeless sak's ???

The reason I ask is I'm going for a job interview tommorow in a school as a groundsman, and your not aloud a blade of any kind in schools over here, so my beloved Farmer's will have to be left either on my bike or at home :(

It's no SAK, it's a SAG. Swiss Army Gadget?

Or Swiss Army Tool? SAT?

I like SAG better.

Mike, Mike, Mike....

You should have thought ahead of time and contacted Bill!

I suppose you could just snap the blade off of one of your Farmers.  :ahhh

As a groundsman you'd most certainly have reasonable cause to be carrying the Farmer.  I wouldn't worry.

Possibly true, but the law's quite specific about blades not entering school property :-\

True and whilst I wouldn't carry one to the interview, their use within school (for the job) should be fine.  How do you think they prepare the lunches :D

How do craft departments work? Or Home Ec? I think as a groundsman you would be able to, possibly a question to ask at the interview (or maybe not as you might not get the job if they think you are a knife wielding maniac!! :D )

It's a SAK! They shouldn't ever notice it anyway.

Unless you start the whole knife wielding maniac part right there with a SAK.

Which is ill advised.

Bring a bigger knife. :D

What tools would you want on it? If a blade is out you'll not get away with a saw :)

There is the Wenger SwissClipper "AT".   I recall some other AT SAKs, but can't find them in the current catalogue.
They substitute a small screwdriver for the main blade.

Thanks for the support fella's :)

I figure I'll wait to see who the the job pans out and then ask if it's ok to carry a street legal Sak like a Mini Grip or Swisschamp (I think the farmer might look a tad aggresive still :-\) and explain exactly why I want it, you know to fix things ::)

Well I got about 3 hours sleep so I'm really hopping my brain still functions at 1.30pm

Just to play Devil's advocate a bit. When you get the job, would you ask for permission to carry a Stanley knife if you had to cut something or for that matter even a screwdriver.

I suppose its all about perception.   Its a funny world country.  When exactly did carrying a SAK change from marking you as a prepared Scout/Guide to being a teenage ninja mutant hooded terrorist?

Wow, if that last sentence doesn't get flagged on some government trouble search I don't know what will ;)
