Ordinarily I hate remakes, but I have to say that I really enjoyed this version of Voltron. I would even go so far as to say I liked it better than the original, which for a stick in the mud type like me is saying a lot.

I haven't managed to watch more in the last couple days, but will try this weekend maybe. There's so much I enjoy doing after everyone else is in bed that it usually takes me a while to complete shows.

I watched the first three eps of the new Netflix Voltron:Legendary Defender. First ep, 95% great, with some things i didn't dig, chief among them, Coran. And the mice.

By the third ep, it was a sh!t-pile of childish anime cliche crap. Super-sad, because the animation for the actual Voltron parts, and the fight stuff, is amazing. I know this had a kid audience, but it has been shown again and again that you can make stuff for kids that isn't insulting to adults. Unfortunately, this was an utter fail in that regard.

For those that like it, I'm happy for you. I was extremely disappointed. YMMV.

I will say it seemed to get less interesting as I went, although I thought that was due to me getting distracted while binging.

I think watching it with my daughter helped. Hard to be cynical when you've got an 11 year old loving it. No, it's not the greatest cartoon ever made, but it's good enough that I'll happily watch the second series when it comes out.

Oh, I think it'd be great for kids. And I don't feel a need to belittle someone who likes it. It just wasn't for me. I had been told it was 'like the 80s cartoon if they made it completely awesome'. So, I was a bit underwhelmed.

Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the few humans that can have things exist in the world that I don't like, but it doesn't bother me if someone else likes it. Enjoy, and have fun.

And if nothing else, it absolutely IS better than the 80s version.

TBH, I watched it only occasionally as a kid, but I never really got into it.

I'm not sure I could get into this one either, but I did enjoy watching it.
