Ax badge and question

Ax badge and question

I found this ax a while ago and from what I can find it was originally designed for roofing, working with wooden shingles. Hoping someone can confirm or give me additional info if I'm wrong. I use it for cutting kindling, works awesome and I keep it fairly sharp.

It is either a roofers or carpenters axe but not exactly sure which :tu: I use a plumb axe that is similar that I use for similar jobs and use it for cutting small branches off trees and sometimes cutting roots around trees :cheers:

Yeah that being because of the notch for pulling nails. The head is straight by the way, not offset.

The only ones I have ever seen offset are the broad axes made for hewing :think:
