Did it yesterday to my Recon 1.  :tu:

Today I waved it to defeat a quick, agile pumpkin that caught me by surprise. It stood no chance at all.

Carved like a Turkey.

The mod works fine, no more regrinding!

Thanks mate

I am glad it works for you.  :salute:
If you position the ziptie correctly, you can use it as thumb stud. Look at my photo closely.

So is it just a pocket trigger?

:o you made it sound so cool, liberals might move on to ban knives if they heard that.
Let's stick with calling it "opener".

Yeah, pocket trigger sounds weird

Maybe "opening assistance" is more politicaly correct  :D

You will find the nut will wear off the coating where it makes contact with your blade, just keep that in mind.

So no more ziptie mods?

Just a small update after these months...Kampf, you were right in your private message, nuts have to be bigger to guarantee a 100% deployment. I had a couple failures this Summer, luckily in the thee occasions it was a convenience to wave open the knife, rather than a necessity.

So, I upgraded.

Bigger blades, bigger nuts  :salute:

Here's my wave mod on Ganzo G733

and on G729

After smoothing the curves I have to say I just love this feature!

I've tried some zip tie mods but they didn't work reliably or the zip ties soon broke.

One more DIY wave mod.

This time using grindstone and the victim was G710.

The blade is almost 10 g (0.35 oz) lighter now. I higly prefer the new blade shape  :)
