2H Wave Plus
on: December 07, 2020, 08:22:29 PM
While the Vic crowd is excited about the OHO spritit, I'm sure some Europeans are excited about the two handed-Wave
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Are those just the old Danish OHO blades on the new Wave or is this a new production model?

Interesting!

I see nail nicks on the inner side. You can see that on one picture.
The outer side is flattened to prevent any one hand opening.

That would be a solution for countries that don't allow oho knifes I guess.

Looks like the bladeS still lock going by the description,
so still might fall foul of UK law.

I like the look of this Wave + 2h .

But I still believe that the Rebar/ST300 or Spirit/Swisstool are a safer bet to travel around Europe.  The knife blades on those tools still look a lot less threatening than the ones on the Wave, 2h opening or not...

Less threatening equals less chance of trouble.

But still, I will probably get one when they are available here...

Very cool.  The Wave is probably LM most popular full-size MT, so it is nice to see them try to accommodate stricter areas.

Just checked and they are already here  ::)

And worst thing is that they cost 10 Euro more than the BO/Stainless version of the Wave, which is also still on my list...

:ahhh

If I was not boracic I would definitely get one for the cupboard, I mean collection.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

So you cannot use the nick for traction with your thumb and still OHO the blade. This should make certain that even the most picky cop won't claim it is OHO.

Does anyone have any information for both the 2HO wave in that pic? like when it was released? There's difference for both of them, the blade shape, nail nick position and frame stamping are different. Cos I have one that I have got quite recently. Looks like the one on the right most. Nail nicks in the front and "LEATHERMAN WAVE" I can't remember the date stamp but its pretty early. Cos there's a faint "Patent Pending" stamped below the rivet. So faint that it looks to be factory grounded away.

The one that is second from the right even says "LEATHERMAN WAVE 2H" on the handle.
The right tool is the one you have on you
