Say it ain't so!

That area on the plier jaws seems like a fairly odd place for rust to develop first. Was it sitting closed in bad conditions for a very long time?  ???

Nah I'm sorry - that was uncalled for.

I'm off to set up a support hotline, DIAL 0800-RUST (calls charged at 50p per minute)

I used to come here a lot.

I took this RS model off the lifeboat earlier tonight . I've put my RS back on the boat while I clean this one up  ::) Basically its salt water exposure . Last time I checked the tool it was about 3 months ago  ( I should have done it before then  :twak: ) . While it is in a dry box other items that are wet are placed in it plus the tool was probably used then put back .

How did you do that?

Victorinoxes usually give rust monsters indigestion!

It's a know fact that Swisstools don't rust!  :twak: So, that cannot be rust!  :twak: ...and if it is, can you prove that it's not from a piece of wet steel wool you left lying on top of this ST?  :D

Ths shouldn't look bad on Victorinox products . Sea water is evil stuff and takes its toll on everything after a while . At some point I want to do a sea water test on at least Vic and one other maker .

:ahhh is the sky falling ::) I thought they said that they couldn't rust so they aren't invincible :o That means over time they would die just like any other mild mannered MT  ;) :D

That is pretty good for 3 months of salt water time though
