Having spent the past year(s) with a renewed interest in analogue watches I bought a few lower cost watches that have mostly been posted in another thread.
These were all bought, with my own money, because I just liked them.
I bought them during sales (the summer one is good) using the various coupons available.
Here is a summary of what I think about that watch group/class
They all have decent movements as I like a watch that will continue working. Japanese brand quartz or automatic, with one respected purely Chinese movement.
CURRENTLY, addiesdive seems to offer the best overall value. For around 40 euro or less you can get a nicely made watch with a metal band that must cost that much on its own. You will not get sapphire or automatic for that, but the watch looks and feels very nice. automatics will be around 70 but will also get sapphire.
For cheap automatics, around 45 euro, try Cadisen. You will get a Miyota movement, sapphire, and a good looking, solid watch but the finish/polishing will not be as good as addiesdive.
steeldive/watchdives/steelflier are also good, but will cost a bit more. Steeldive especially is a more established brand and keep their value surprisingly well, if you buy at a good price.
For a high beat movement, I suggest Cronos. More premium in finish and price, but a cheap way to get a pt5000 movement. Think about 140 euro. The movement winds easily and, in my sample, is very accurate.
Boderry is also decent and will have some unusual designs. similar to Cronos in finish but do not have cheap high beat movements.
Tandorio is a good choice with nice variety. Their finish is similar to addiesdive, better than cadisen, but they lack AR coating in a few models, that have sapphire. Work well and have a good selection of models. They sell from around 50 to 100 euro. They also have some low cost watches with a bronze case that are good value.
San martin has the best overall finish and does feel like a better quality product than the rest. They start at around 100 euro, for quartz and between 200 to 300 seems to be their sweet spot for interesting designs and a good metal strap. If you buy their cheaper models you will not be disappointed, but you will miss out on some finishing touches, a metal strap etc.
Overall I am happy with all these brands.
You can also get similarly priced, analogue, watches from Casio two, or for a bit more from Seiko if you want to stay safe, but with these mentioned previously you tend to get sapphire and ceramic bezels thrown in, for less money.
