Pelican 1910 AAA light
on: July 19, 2016, 06:35:12 PM
I picked up this little guy today.

It's actually really bright. I know that it's rated for 70 lumens, but I was a little skeptical. Turns out that it really is"don't shine it in your eyes" bright.

AAA battery and earbuds for size comparison.

How much did you pay for it?

These are great little lights. Having the low mode is nice. I also have the big brother, the 1920 pen light which takes AAA x2. It's a tough one, been through the washer twice (jeez, I need to check my pockets more carefully) with no issues at all. Only thing is the size; the Streamlight equivalents (Microstream / Stylus Pro) are a bit smaller but also quite a bit lighter. But yes, they are more than bright enough! :D
May it be as the Pattern has chosen.

I'll say! These are every bit as bright as the surefire that I had in the early oughts, but tiny.

They aren't the smallest AAA light out there, but they fit in the hand well. I have two of the single mode ones, one in my work shirt or jacket pocket, one in my Surge Sheath. They are plenty rugged, but I had to replace the o-ring on one when I broke it mucking around with the pocket clip and didnt get it back in the right spot tightening the tail switch. The one in the Surge sheath replaced a Led Lenser P2 BM that smurfed itself.

They make a single mode one? I think I might prefer that.

Also, you're right, they're not the smallest, but I think any smaller would be too small for me, at least with the way I hold that kind of light.

I'm not sure if they still make them or I just got old stock, but specs say 39 Lumens, 1 hour runtime, 62m beam distance 967cd peak beam intensity.

The 1920 I have has 2 modes, bright and dim, can't remember the specs and have thrown out the box

Eh... OK maybe not so exciting. I like the single mode simplicity but not terribly jazzed about dropping lumens.

That's actually what's so impressive about this critter is just how much light they're getting out of such a small package.
