What kind of use does the espada XL do for you? Just for fun of the prep nerve or is it for something special?

to be bluntly honest, I have just used it to cut food at home, mostly watermelons, pineapples and meat.  :salute:
I cut a cake once at an old school friend's Birthday Party, I brought the balde just for the occasion because he's always been fascinated with my 4-6 inch XL folders since I first got into them. His face was priceless  :gimme:

Got the motorcycle out today. I just had to get out and check on the status of Spring. The good news is that we have full-on Spring here and the land looks fantastic. Rivers and lakes are full. The grass is green, and the animals are happy.

For today's 300-mile loop, I packed the Farmer X and a Spydie Military. SOG PAD went into the tank bag.




Temps were down to 50oF in the mountains; there was still some snow on the side of the roads up there!  Out on the high plains, temps jumped up to 80oF. The wind was a bit gusty at times, which made riding a bit more 'adventurous', but beautiful views and beautiful weather made the effort worthwhile!

And a fresh bacon-burger for lunch didn't hurt morale, either:




Great ride and nice to have a quality SAK along for the adventure.  :tu:

I do have a real fondness for handmade knives. There is a real skill and art to making a good knife. That is just fun. Customs have a unique feel and character that sometimes seem to give them a bit of 'soul', if you will permit me to say so. However, with use and time, all tools take on character and patina, and, therefore, become unique with a bit of 'soul'. So I still love a nice Vic Classic in classic red celidor as much as anything.

I don't care for poorly made tools. I try to respect my tools; I expect a manufacturer to do the same when making them. Poor design or fit & finish leaves me cold. I think we as consumers (and general knife knuts) should carry good quality knives and tools, and give the cold shoulder to manufacturers who make crap just to make a buck (or Euro).

I took this yesterday. Don't mind the other stuff. It's a spyderco military carbon fiber/ titanium & a victorinox swisstool spirit x with corkscrew/eyeglass driver, extension, ratchet and bits in a leather sheath.

The Twitch II is a fun little knife, easy to deploy with a crisp spring-assist, and it's a good cutter. Build quality is good, too. It's very slim and makes a great EDC to drop into a pocket and forget....until one needs to fiddle with something. Used it yesterday to open a couple bags of mulch for the garden. ***snick!***
