I am not familiar with that Spyderco model...look like it might have some Japanese back ground to it. Glad to see your OC back  :like:  :tu:

This Spydie is the Nilakka, designed by Finnish knife-maker, Pekka Tuominen. I believe it is meant to be a folding Puukko.

But, yes, does have a bit of Japanese style to it, doesn't it?

This Spydie comes with a pocket clip, but feels much better in hand without it. I took off the clip and made a belt sheath for routine carry.

Very nice knife. Not cheap, but then, an original Tuominen is going to set you back quite a bit........ :o

It is a nice looking knife for sure. The clips do retract from any knifes looks. So taking it off is not problem.  :like:

two straight blades for you, one of each type for me,
both combos are great, even the worm does agree!
 :hatsoff:

That’s a interesting and good photo!  :like: :tu:

that little cute worm
he came like a storm
its bright green
I had not seen
in no time half the steel was gone
all those waves the bug had done
a serrated pattern quickly took form
as NOM-NOM-NOM went the worm
 :dunno:

Out for a day hike today.

(Image removed from quote.)

Started off partly cloudy and cool (0ºC), but the wind picked up and became fierce. And some clouds rolled in. With some snow flurries.

(Image removed from quote.)

I had anticipated as much, and packed a knife along with a couple of SAKs:

Oh I love your Southern California hiking pics Jack  :like:

... mighty combo there. I do have the same Airforce classic  :D

That looks like a solid general purpose knife.
Seems like similar in size to the Buck 110 but probably a lot lighter I guess?
Excellent sheath making Jack  :tu:

Today I received my first true fixie.
It's a Spanish little blade that will be following me along.
It will pair nicely with a SAK.
No pictures right now, as I'm in a company dinner.
I'll be sure to post one tomorrow, as I'm supposed to!

Maybe a tad smaller than a 110, but in the same general area. Definitely a bit lighter!   :tu:
