Some of my SAKS + other blades I inherited from my grandfather:

1.) His Elgin pocket watch with knife that I always coveted along with the pocket watch with knife that my grandparents bought me when I was 7 (unfortunately the knife was washed with laundry) and my nylon Sportsman, which I kind of think of as a small pocket knife that could be on a chain.

2.) A bunch of well-used and mostly broken knives. He always carried one and as you can see they got used. Very small knives. The one with black scales is Japanese made and seems to be in the best shape.  Swisschamp cuz that's a lot of blades to compete with.

3.) Gifts my grandfather recieved. Really cheap chinese made pliers with stainless pliers but junky plated handle tools, as well as a Barlow I had given him as a gift.  Inside the box I found a small credit card sized metal plaque that shows his "lifetime membership" to the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners. (He was a union carpenter in Maryland) The small nail file/opener tools are actually fairly decent for little stamped things like this, USA made. Baltimore contractors is one of companies he worked for.

4.) Nothing to do with Grampa, this is some silly knife my friend brought me from Costa Rica. I tried to get a close up of the inscription on the tang with the mag glass but my hand was a little shaky.

Thanks cali and SG.....that old knife is something your grandfather would have pulled out to cut a hay string or something.  Beautiful bone and polished by many hands I'm sure, including mine for the last 15 years.

Grandfathers always have the best tool collections and knives. I've got a garage full of inherited tools and I'm still finding things after about 10 years with it.  Found 2 multi tools the other day.
