These are what's currently in my edc rotation... On some days, i just carry what's on the keychain... Just can't live without the minichamp...

Classic alox is good but unfortunately not sufficient for my daily needs... Will be putting back my rambler into rotation service soon after converting it to alox... Just waiting for the donor scales from a used classic alox to arrive...

Cheers...

How about an alox Bantam and a Classic for the scissors?

The alox Bantam is only 6mm thick...

This is not as slim as the other options but if you are wanting all of your requirements with a little more sturdiness i would go with the pioneer X. It has what you need and when i slip it in my pocket slip i have for it, it sits perfectly and I barely even know its there. I know thats not exactly what youre looking for but i just thought id throw my 2 cents in. It is more rugged, and has all of your required tools plus a phillips, can opener, and an awl, which is great to use when you don't want to dirty up your knife blade.

Yes, I agree.

The Pioneer X is an excellent sturdy but minimal all-in-one package! The extra thickness gives it better grip than the thinner alox models, but not so much that it is a burden to carry. It has not left my pocket since Apr.

But I also understand that it can be too much for some people. My dad loves his alox Bantam, and I cannot convince him to carry anything thicker.

Welcome to the forum :waving:

The reason it fell appart is you dremmeled away the very thing that was holding it together. The bolts you dremmeled away not only hold the scales on, they with help of the bushings keep the tool together and by even removing a little bit of the top of the bolts you loosen the hold the bushings have on the liners. If you want thin, the ALOX Classic will do the light jobs just fine.

Maybe the solution is larger pockets.

I don't really know what model or what is it (only has a blade, no other tools), but I found this one with the scales taken off/apart and I carry it so often because of its thin profile

I didn't un-scale it myself, or don't know who in my family/enviroment did, but it was a discovery as far as low profile and unobtrusive carry.

That Pioneer X looks sweet. Just so many keys I gotta have in my pocket...maybe I'll be this for an alternate...especially if I do t want the anemic sized knife that is on the Classic. Thanks for the tip!

PS: after an extensive search, it seems that no one does compact and quality like Victorinox. The Leatherman Style CS didn't look like it would exactly disappear in the pocket.

Anyone ever got the Buck 735 X-Tract? That looks fairly slim

The only two Victorinox models that only has the blade I can think of are the 108mm Solo and the 93mm Pioneer Solo Alox.

Maybe yours is the former...

I only have limited knowledge and there have been lots of "non-std" SAKs over the years, but since the rivets indicate a Cellidor model, it couldn't be a Pioneer Alox Solo...but it could be an 84mm Vic Sentry.

I picked up an Alox Rambler (with burgundy scales) from SwissBianco last week, much better than the Classic IMHO - not only does it have the bottle opener/Phillips screwdriver tool, but the knife opens on the opposite side to the Classic I.e. not right next to the keyring, which makes it much nicer to use. I also actually found the Alox Classic to be too thin to use comfortably, but the slight extra width (not much) of the Alox Rambler actually makes a surprising difference to comfort.

I'll try to post a picture tomorrow.

The Alox Rambler is not a standard model, but think SwissBianco still has some.

Spyderco Ladybug or Manbug are also both awesome little knives - much better knife blade than the Classic or Rambler for similar weight and only a little bit larger, but no tools

Alox Bantam also nice as a lightweight EDC, has reasonable size knife and a bottle opener/can opener multitool, very thin - Similar to Alox. Rambler!.

I have a Broker on my car keys

http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Broker

5.1mm thick, which is thinner than the Alox Classic, and almost as thin as a Classic with no scales and rivets ground off.

Do I need it on there even though I have a Rogue on my house keys? No, but it's small enough not to be any problem. Why don't I have my car and house keys combined? I hate the jingling noise of keys in the ignition
