she's only been here a few days, and perhaps Kat has a calming influence, but since the initial incident she's been grand. It is likely that Kat with be joining her on her adventures, if i can get the pet passport and shots sorted.

Sending an animal with Dolly would not be a good idea. The travel gives her time to train it into an attack animal, and she's dangerous enough as it is

No Kat is the most harmless creature you could ever meet. Dolly has been so relaxed and chilled out since adopting her its hard to believe she's the same creature you and mags describe.
It would be cruel to part them now.

Who would've thought Dolly would be calmed by a mere Kat?

ok, right, so, where will i start ? I suppose, like all sagas we'll start at the beginning .

Life has gotten very busy lately for me - new job, long days, etc. (New job is absolutely fantastic btw), just means that my promise to Dolly was delayed. So, as you may recall, I had promised Dolly a meeting with Rex and a trip in his RIB, and, today was the day. Weather was good, calm conditions, not too much water in the stream. Pretty much ideal conditions.

So, meeting with Rex was going ok, until he mistook security stan for a tasty morsel. Fortunately, disaster was averted, and Stan was rescued.

After that, Rex took the motley crew through boat procedures for a bit

Getting familiar with the boat -

Dolly insisted on taking the helm, rather than Stan . . . somehow, i knew this was a bad idea, but i didn't listen to my gut.

All this supervised by the puppies -

So, after their orientation and safety program the crew were set to sail on moving water.

Initially, Dolly seemed to be doing ok -

taking it easy, close to shore

then, before she could be stopped she headed out into open water

she attempted some rapids

and disaster struck

there are no more pics after that, as my daughter and i swung into rescue mode. Stan and Kat were swiftly rescued, but of Dolly there was no sign. We searched for near two hours, which included my daughter trying her swimming skills (she fell into the stream) but no Dolly.

At that stage, we had to call a halt to the search much as it pained us to do so.

I have been in communication with Mags, he believes it is possible she was planning an escape from the moment she left the country. I honestly don't know. I had secured her into the rib myself, in fact, i thought she was more secure then Stan or Kat. Either way, she is gone.

I'm sorry folks for allowing this to happen on my watch, we (my daughter and I) feel bad over it. Despite the sylvanian incident, she had grown on us.

After discussion with Mags, the plan now is that Stan and Kat will continue her journey in her memory. I will start packing and update during the week.

I'd just like to warn everyone on the list to keep an eye out from now on - she'll turn up at your door when you least expect it. I suggest all names on the list check in on a daily basis so we know you're ok, and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GO TO YOUR CELLAR ALONE! Always make sure someone knows where you are and when you're expected back. Don't take any chances.

Respect goes out to Eamo's daughter who, by all accounts saved Security Stan and Meerkat from Dolly while Eamo hid in his car with the doors locked (that's what I heard anyway). Brave brave young woman.  :salute:

I feel bad it happened on my watch.

The stream flows into a river, which flows into the Atlantic ocean, within a mile or so of the "accident" - given time, she could make her way anywhere on the planet. I find it hard to believe she'd abandon Kat though

You know when people say 'they'd sell their own grandmother'? Well Dolly actually did sell her own grandmother Eamo, so don't be fooled by her. The only reason she would take Kat is as a hostage. I'm surprised she didn't push everyone off the boat and nick it. She must have a different plan.........

Calmly sat down down and updated R2 and Jennifer on yesterdays news. They took it as they always do and hid in their 'best' hiding places:

Is it bad that Dollys disappearance feels like we've actually lost a forum member?

In fairness to him, he has been totally and utterly useless. I think Rex spat him out rather then eat him, thats how useless he is.

Perhaps, Mags, perhaps. I am really glad i didn't take her on one of my sea kayaking trips, might have ended badly for me !

Yes John, and on my watch . . . . . i doubt i'll ever live this down.

Oi,can't leave you guys alone for a couple of days... what a mess.

I for one have increased security and my hamster is on high alert. I already found what looks like a chewed on leg in Emmas (that's the hamster) territory and have a strong suspicion that Dolly was here probably brought a pansy to distract my war-hamster.

Dammit! She was researching how to distract War-Hamsters before she left! She's always several steps ahead of us.  I suggest raising the threat level to orange.

Dolly has one chink in her armour. She is allergic to Heavy Metal, the heavier it is the more allergic she is. I find playing Heavy metal at all hours keeps my environment Dolly free. At this very moment I am listening to Screaming for Vengeance by Judas Preist and there's no sign of Dolly. She's more of an '80's Dollar, Bucks Fizz kinda gal.\II/

P.S. Maybe I should have published this valuable snippet of information a while ago.  :twak:

I"ll have to go back and see about when shop toad disappeared.  I wondered if Dolly might have recruited shop toad as her US contact and who else might be working with her.
