Purely AWESOME , Lord Corporation! Can't wait to see the Patina I have a old sheet of Copper I found in a field, that I shoot knife pics on...... Love the LOOK!
Hi guys, new to the forum. My experience with Roger's scales (SwissBianco) was different than some of the others. Mine snapped in. I too wasn't really sure how to install these things when I first got them and ironically I found SwissBiancos's YouTube tutorial on how to change out the plastic scales. Being ignorant to the whole process, it didn't occur to me that the Cu scales would go on any differently than the plastic ones. On the video, he recommends using a small vice with padded jaws to install the plastic scales. Again being ignorant, I figured Cu being metal, I didn't need a vice since there's no way the scales would crack. So...I made sure I had the orientation correct for both sides, carefully placed one side down on a hard surface, and put my weight into it like I was giving CPR. The bottoms scale snapped in. I turned it over and did the same thing to the other side...done. It took me longer to find and watch the video. Here are some pics...I like Cu..can you tell. The SAK is a Mountaineer Lite IIRC. The second set I'm going to put on a SwissChamp. Maybe I'll do a YouTube video on that one...or maybe I just lucky with this set, IDK. Clearly the scales haven't patina'ed that much yet, it'll be very cool when it does. All of my patina has been natural...nothing forced. Hope this helps (Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)(Image removed from quote.)Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
